Roster and auction

Each team carries 12 players. Keeping all 12 forfeits participation in the free-agency auction.
Only players selected in the 2026 Association rookie draft are rookies for this keeper cycle; players selected in 2025 are now non-rookies.
A selected 2026 rookie has a $1 keeper salary and uses one of the 12 roster spots.
Auction funds left after the draft become the season FAAB budget: soft cap minus team salary.

Player values and transactions

Drafted player values remain with the player for the season, even after a waiver.
Undrafted waiver players use their winning FAAB price; rookies enter at $1.
Teams may trade to reduce tax exposure but may not waive players to avoid tax.

Keeper declarations

Declare at least 4 keepers; at least 4 must be non-rookies. The current rookie selection cannot satisfy that four-player minimum.
Each player selected in the 2026 rookie draft counts as one keeper and one roster spot at a $1 salary; prior draft classes count as non-rookies.
Teams may keep up to 12 players. Keeping all 12 makes the team auction-ineligible.
Keeper declarations may not exceed the $398 soft cap unless the full Bird Rights path is used.

Salary inflation

Rank 1-10: +10%; 11-24: +8%; 25-48: +6%; 49-80: +5%; 81-100: +3%; 101-192: +1%; 193+: no increase.
Each increase is floor($398 × tier percentage), then added to the prior salary. Player salaries are floored to whole dollars.
